　　Brief Biography

　　After completing medical school at Beijing Medical University in 1986, Dr. Chen pursued graduate studies in molecular biology and obtained her PhD from McGill University （Montreal, Canada） in 1994. Dr. Chen then completed a 4-year pathology residency at New York Medical College, New York, and a one-year Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center （MSKCC） in New York City, and stayed as a staff pathologist at MSKCC since 1999.  During her tenure at MSKCC, Dr. Chen's work involved surgical pathology with a subspecialty focus in breast pathology.  She was also the Associate Director of Diagnostic Molecular Pathology Laboratory and oversaw HER2 FISH testing at MSKCC.  Dr. Chen joined Mayo Clinic Rochester in 2007. Dr. Chen is currently the Director of breast pathology fellowship program, the Head of breast pathology and the Head of breast cancer biomarker working group in the Division of Anatomic Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  Dr. Chen's research interests are focused on breast cancer, particularly HER2 related issues in breast cancer.  Dr. Chen has published and lectured extensively on the topic of breast pathology and molecular markers of breast cancer.
